  • Jan 12th, 2012 - As you may be aware; Chief Judge Togliatti signed the District Court MOU in late September, which we needed in order to take to the county to request collective bargaining. In the meantime, we had been engaged in a yearlong negotiation with Justice Court over an MOU that we hoped to take to the county with the District Court MOU. However, that finally ended on Friday January 6th with a vote of 10-1 against an MOU. We are now going forward with a motion in front of EMRB without Justice Court. We have provided all of our information to the law offices of Daniel Marks and Adam Levine, as well NAPSO who is drafting the motion. Our goal is to have this filed before February 1st. What does this mean for Justice Court? We are gathering information from both DC and JC, and will be having a meeting with them to discuss our options from here.
  • Jan 6th, 2012 - The association has been in a number of meetings with Sgt. Moody, Acting Sgt. Saunders, Human Resources Director Ed May, County HR Director Jesse Hoskins, Director Bennett, Court CEO Steve Grierson, Chief Judge Togliatti, and Assistant County Manager Jeff Wells. During these meetings we have addressed a vast number of topics ranging from IA's, to staffing and NRS289. In early February we will hold our next general membership meeting to brief everyone on what has been happening.
  • Jan 5th, 2012 - In a brief meeting with Chief Judge Togliatti, she stated that she has submitted the courts version of a new inter-local agreement to the County, and that she will be meeting with the association later this month to discuss the results.
  • Sept 27th, 2011 - I am pleased to announce that Chief Judge Jennifer Togliatti, has been involved in talks with County Manager Don Burnette, regarding a number of court issues including the Marshals. CCDMA has been meeting almost weekly with both sides in an effort to break away from the pay reductions that seem to keep coming. The inter-local agreement is the heart of the problem, and both sides have agreed to discuss changes.
  • Sept 26th, 2011 - It was almost a year ago that District Court voted to accept an MOU between the Marshals Association and District Court; however, District Court could not sign it until Justice Court agreed as well. Over the last nine months, CCDMA has been going through revision, after revision with Justice Court with no progress. That is until last week when District Court agreed to sign an MOU for District Court, removing Justice Court from the agreement. A link to the new signed District Court MOU is in the members area.
  • Aug 23rd, 2011 - Today CCDMA President Anthony Vogel met with the President of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Departments union (LVPPA) for over an hour discussing the future of the Marshals. LVPPA agreed that for too long we have been stuck in limbo, and offered there support in our future efforts with the County.
  • May 19th, 2011 - The updated legal defense plan is now online in the members area
