Clark County
Deputy Marshal's Association
Members of the Clark County Marshal's Division began life as Clark County Deputy Sheriffs. In 1973, the Las Vegas Police Department and the Clark County Sheriff's Office merged to create the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. It was at this time that the position of Clark County Bailiff was created. Their responsibility was to protect the Judges and County Court buildings.
In 2007, the Bailiffs became Deputy Marshals and formed the Clark County Courts Deputy Marshal's Association. In September 2009, Clark County Commissioner Rory Reid instructed Clark County to recognize the Association as a collective bargaining unit.
On March 16th, 2010 the Clark County
Commissioners formally recognized the association as the
exclusive bargaining unit for the Marshal's. The association
will now be known as the Clark County Deputy Marshal's
Association... |
